Some pretty Friday pictures...

My favourite blogger on Tumblr strikes again. I'll let the pictures do the talking. Where do people find this stuff??

If you haven't already headed on over to her site, be sure to do so at Tulle Blouse Leather Sofa.

Wander the World... To Africa.

I have been getting itchy feet of late. We have a(nother) New Zealand trip planned for August to go skiing (a first for me!), and as that is being organised, I find myself dreaming of other places I am desperate to visit. One place in particular that I often dream of is Africa. I have wanted to go to Africa for as long as I can remember. To find a peace and beauty in our world that seems difficult to find here...

Made for a Maid...

In case any of you can't tell, I'm a little wedding obsessed. You should see my book shelf - jam packed with wedding magazines (I know, waste of money etc etc... I just can't help myself!). I have a feeling this particular obsession probably started from quite a young age, when my two older sisters used to dress my brother in his best clothes, with a tie on elastic, and me in a white, puffy dress to make us play 'wedding'! Some sort of connection? Maybe?

Anyway, here are some great bridesmaid dress ideas. I am into different dresses for each maid, however any of these would look great in numbers!

Margot. Clare. Sophie.

I know a girl.
She puts the colour inside of my world.

Three perfect little girls.
Three little girls that mean the entire world to me.

The Crew...

Last week I was informed that J Crew now ship AROUND THE WORLD!!! Yes... that means AUSTRALIA!!!! Look, in case you can't tell, I'm a little excited about this. It's also fairly detrimental to my (our) bank account... savings account... credit card account... ANY account that involves money.

In honour (!) of this momentous revelation, here is some J Crew inspiration...

Stay tuned for some J Crew Wedding inspiration...

Peacocks and Lilies...

More wedding information - when will it end!!

Wedding make up. I'm pretty sure all women freak out a little when they think about it... I think the most important thing about wedding make up is that it a) needs to be photo friendly, which means it needs to be a little more than natural to make sure you don't look deathly in photos b) needs to done by someone who knows what they're doing!! and most importantly c) it needs to reflect who you are. You should still feel like you underneath it all...
The fabulous Lydia Johnston from Peacocks and Lilies was the make up artist behind my wedding look in November, and I have to say, I am incredibly grateful for her amazing technique and relaxed, competent manner. She made getting ready for the wedding so much fun, and made me feel so special for my day.

I would recommend Lydia in a heart-beat. This is one of the most important parts of your wedding, or any occasion you may want to feel extra special for, so make sure you're entrusting the job to the right person.... The right person being Lydia.

Autumn...

It's March, and so here that means it's autumn, my favourite season. I think I'd like to, just once in my life, live somewhere that truly transforms into autumn. Our autumn looks nothing like this...

And this is how summer becomes autumn, then winter. Like... really.
No, I'm serious, this actually happens.

Skinny love...

I highly doubt that I find anything of interest on my own. Here's a song sent to me by one of my sisters. I can't stop listening to it, and every time I play it, I'm mesmerised by this 15 YEAR OLD girl's voice and this beautiful video...

Home grown roses... (Like I know what I'm doing...)

A couple of weekends ago I needed a little beauty to brighten up life... So I picked a few roses from the bush outside our window, and "arranged" them in one of our pressed glass wedding vases. I am not even close to knowing how to use our flashy camera, but with Lewis' help I managed to come away with a few nice shots.

Roses always brighten up my day, and I can't believe our luck to have a ready planted rose bush in our garden. The colour of these roses is perfect.
